About project

This project is a renovation of an old restaurant to brunch cafe. Due to severe deterioration, we began with foundational work, including leak repairs and facility upgrades. However, the building's original structure revealed many attractive features, such as high sloped ceilings and large windows. We focused on preserving these strengths while creating a fresh atmosphere.

Developed alongside the branding, 'Kreds Haus' reinterprets the original community-driven 'KREDS' into a comfortable, home-like dining space. Instead of a conventional layout, the counters and coffee bar feature an island configuration to blur the boundary between staff and guests. Warm wooden furniture and carpeted flooring—uncommon for a cafe—were paired to create a cozy environment.

내외관이 낙후되어 누수와 설비 등 기초 공사부터 진행했다. 철거 후 드러난 건물 자체의 구조는 경사진 높은 천장과 큰 창 등 매력적인 요소가 많았다. 이러한 기존 건물의 장점을 살리면서 새로운 분위기를 만드는 데 집중했다.

브랜딩을 함께 진행하며, 기존 캐주얼한 커뮤니티를 지향하던 크레즈보다 더욱 '집처럼 편안하게 식사할 수 있는 공간'인 크레즈 하우스를 기획했다. 편안하고 따뜻한 분위기를 위해 카운터와 커피 바는 전형적인 형태 대신 아일랜드 형식으로 배치해 직원과 손님의 경계를 모호하게 만들었다.

또 공간의 가구들은 따뜻한 원목 가구로 제작하였고, 카페에서 보기 드문 카펫 바닥을 매치해 아늑한 분위기를 자아냈다.
